Psycho is a three-track EP released on April 1st, 2018, marking the first official entry in MATEYEVIC’s catalog. The record is a raw and uncompromising snapshot of independence, survival, and self-definition. In under ten minutes, the EP captures the restless spirit of an outsider carving out space in a world that often feels hostile — turning solitude, strangeness, and stigma into sources of strength.

The EP begins with “New World”, a quiet rebellion against conformity. With intimate, diary-like verses about peeling walls, silence, and fragile new routines, the song reframes imperfection as liberation. It rejects society’s pressure to smile and fit the mold, instead claiming a personal space that, while rough around the edges, finally feels like home.

From there, “On My Own” builds the backbone of the collection. Its steady rhythm and straightforward honesty capture the life of someone who never fit in, and never really tried to. Rather than mourn isolation, the track reframes it as freedom: “They called it strange, I called it free.” It is a proud anthem of resilience — a reminder that solitude can shape strength, not weakness.

The closing and title track, “Psycho”, embraces the label head-on. What might be thrown as an insult is transformed into a declaration: “I’ve been my best inside my worst.” The song is jagged, unfiltered, and defiant, blurring the line between coping mechanisms and chaos. It closes the EP not with apology but with survival, insisting that imperfection itself can be a form of power.

Taken together, the three songs form a miniature manifesto. Psycho is not polished or conventional; it was never meant to be. It is intimate but unflinching, exposing scars and laughing at them, creating music that feels alive precisely because of its rough edges.
